Eligibility Criteria

1. Employment Requirements

Candidates must be a Police Official currently serving in one of the following organizations:

  • Central Government Police Organizations
  • State Police Departments
  • Union Territory Administrations

The applicant must:

  1. Hold an equivalent (analogous) post on a regular basis in the parent department OR
  2. Have at least 5 years of regular service in Level-3 Pay Matrix (₹21,700 – 69,100) in the parent cadre.

2. Age Limit

  • The maximum age for appointment is 56 years as of the closing date of application submission.

3. Driving & Technical Requirements

  • A valid driving license for both Light Motor Vehicles (LMV) and Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV).
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in driving LMVs and HMVs.

Pay Scale & Allowances

  • The salary for this position falls under Level-4 of the government pay scale, ranging from ₹25,500 to ₹81,100 per month, along with additional allowances as per government norms.
  • Previous Pay Structure: Pay Band-1 (₹5,200 – ₹20,200 + Grade Pay ₹2,400)
  • Additional Benefits: The selected candidate will receive allowances and perks as per government norms.

Selection Process

The selection for Head Constable (Driver) will be based on the Deputation Process as per the guidelines of the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).

1. Deputation Period

  • The initial deputation will be for three years.
  • It may be extended as per DoPT’s regulations and departmental requirements.

2. Verification & Shortlisting

  • The applications will be screened and verified by the NCRB selection committee.
  • The parent department must verify and certify the applicant’s integrity, service records, and confirm no pending disciplinary cases.

3. Final Selection & Relieving Process

  • The selected candidate must be relieved immediately from their parent department.
  • The final decision will be made based on experience, eligibility, and service record verification.
