DRDO’s Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC) is inviting applications for various Project Scientist positions in Hyderabad. The vacancies are divided as follows:

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification & Experience

Candidates must have a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology from a recognized university. The required work experience varies by position:

Project Scientist ‘F’ (Computer Science & Engineering) – 01 Vacancy

• Essential:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in designing and developing application software using Python, Perl, Bash, C, C++.
• Desirable:
  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in project management (minimum 3 years).
  • Experience in developing software for airborne/space systems.
  • Hands-on experience in network infrastructure and encryptor interfacing.

Project Scientist ‘D’ (Electronics & Communication Engineering) – 10 Vacancies

• Essential:
  • You should have at least five years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and testing electronics or RF systems.
  • Experience with signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers.
• Desirable:
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Additionally, experience in designing, integrating, and testing small satellite subsystems would be a plus.
  • Good knowledge of MATLAB/SIMULINK for signal processing.

Project Scientist ‘C’ (Electronics & Communication Engineering) – 07 Vacancies

• Essential:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electronics/RF system design, development & testing.
• Desirable:
  • Experience handling test & measurement equipment.
  • Strong background in digital/RF/communication systems.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/SIMULINK.

Project Scientist ‘B’ (Electronics & Communication Engineering) – 02 Vacancies

• Essential:
  • First Class Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant discipline.
• Desirable:
  • Valid GATE score.

Age Limit (as on 01st April 2025)

• Project Scientist ‘F’ – Up to 55 years
• Project Scientist ‘D’ – Up to 45 years
• Project Scientist ‘C’ – Up to 40 years
• Project Scientist ‘B’ – Up to 35 years

Age Relaxation:

• PwD/Divyang candidates: Up to 10 years
• Central Govt. Employees: Up to 5 years
• Ex-Servicemen: As per government rules
• Reserved Category (SC/ST/OBC): As per applicable norms (only for Project Scientist ‘B’)

Pay Scale & Benefits

DRDO offers a highly competitive salary for the selected candidates along with additional allowances.

Selection Process

The selection process is based entirely on merit and performance in the personal interview.

• Minimum Qualifying Marks in Interview:
  • General/OBC/EWS candidates: 70%
  • SC/ST/PwD candidates: 60%

Note: No written test will be conducted. Selection is purely based on interview performance.
