Application Fee

Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality
Candidates must fulfill one of the following:
- Citizen of India, or
- Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanent residence, or
- Person of Indian origin from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, or Tanzania who migrated to India for permanent residence.
Special eligibility certificates are required for categories (Tibetan refugees or persons from other countries), which must be verified by the respective authorities.
2. Educational Qualification
Candidates must fulfill the following educational criteria:
- Intermediate (12th) with Physics and Mathematics from a recognized board.
- Computer qualification: DOEACC “O” Level certificate or any equivalent government-recognized computer course.
- Alternatively, a diploma in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Electronics Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical Education Council or equivalent.
Candidates appearing in the final year of qualifying exams are not eligible. Certificates must be possessed at the time of application submission.
3. Age Limit
- Minimum: 18 years as of 1 July 2025
- Maximum: 28 years as of 1 July 2025
- Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories and UP government employees as per government rules:
- SC/ST: +5 years
- OBC: +3 years
- EWS, Women, Freedom Fighter dependents, Ex-Servicemen: as per respective government notifications
4. Character & Marital Status
- Candidates must have a good moral character and not be involved in any criminal cases.
- Bigamy is not allowed.
- Persons dismissed from government service or convicted of moral turpitude crimes are ineligible.
5. Physical and Medical Fitness
Candidates must be physically and mentally fit for duty. Persons with physical disabilities are not eligible for police recruitment.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of the following stages:
1. Written Examination
- Type: Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
- Total Marks: 200
- Subjects & Marks:
- General Knowledge: 50
- Mental Ability & Reasoning: 50
- Computer Science: 100
- Minimum qualifying marks: 40%
- The exam will be conducted through OMR-based or pen-and-paper system in single or multiple shifts.
- Normalization of scores will be applied in case of multiple shifts.
- Admit cards will be made available on the UPPRPB portal before the exam.
2. Computer Typing Test
Candidates qualifying in the written test will appear for the typing test:
- Hindi Typing: 25 words per minute
- English Typing: 30 words per minute
- Minimum accuracy: 85%
- Hindi typing will use Unicode Inscript layout.
3. Document Verification
Candidates who qualify the typing test will be called for document verification based on merit and category. Essential documents include:
- Educational certificates
- Caste certificate (if applicable)
- EWS certificate (if applicable)
- Freedom fighter dependent certificate (if applicable)
- Ex-servicemen certificate (if applicable)
- Domicile certificate
The verification will ensure all uploaded documents match the original records. Any discrepancies may lead to disqualification.
4. Merit List & Final Selection
- Final selection will be based on normalized written test scores, typing test, and document verification.
- Reserved category candidates are selected based on UP government reservation policies.
- Tie-breaking rules:
- Candidates with additional qualifications
- Older candidate gets preference
- Alphabetical order of names in high school certificate
No waiting list will be prepared.
