The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has officially announced the Senior Resident Recruitment 2026, inviting applications for 110 non-academic Senior Resident posts across multiple medical and surgical departments. Eligible candidates holding MD/MS/DNB/DM/M.Ch/MDS qualifications can submit their applications online through the official JIPMER website.

The online application process begins on 14 January 2026 and will close on 03 February 2026 (4:30 PM). This recruitment follows a rolling advertisement system under the Government of India Residency Scheme.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Medical & Surgical Departments:
  MD / MS / DNB in the relevant specialty from an NMC/MCI-recognized institution.
• Paediatrics (Clinical Genetics):
  MD Paediatrics / MD Obstetrics & Gynaecology / MD Internal or General Medicine with minimum 3 months of experience in genetic disorder management or prenatal genetic diagnostics during post-graduation.
• Pulmonary Medicine:
  Candidates with DM in Pulmonary Medicine are also eligible.
• CTVS / Clinical Immunology / Neonatology:
  DM or M.Ch in the concerned discipline from a recognized institute.
• Dental Department:
  MDS (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery) recognized by DCI.

Salary Structure

Selected candidates will receive:

• Basic Pay: ₹67,700 per month (7th CPC – Level 11, Cell 1)
• Additional Benefits: NPA + applicable allowances
• Total Monthly Emoluments: Approximately ₹1,30,000 (Puducherry/Karaikal postings)

Age Limit & Relaxation

• Upper Age Limit: 45 years (as on crucial date)

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST – 5 years
• OBC – 3 years
• PwBD (UR/EWS) – 10 years
• PwBD (OBC) – 13 years
• PwBD (SC/ST) – 15 years

Application Fee

Reservation Policy

• Reservation will be provided as per Government of India norms
• 4% horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)
• Minimum disability requirement: 40%
• Disability assessment will be conducted by the JIPMER Medical Board, and its decision will be final

Candidates may be considered for unreserved seats if suitable applicants are unavailable in reserved categories, initially for a maximum period of 40 days, extendable as required.

Certificate Requirements

• OBC (NCL): Central Government-format certificate issued in the current financial year
• EWS: Valid income certificate (family income below ₹8 lakh per annum)
• SC/ST/OBC/EWS: Certificate issued by Tahsildar or higher authority as prescribed

Failure to submit valid certificates at document verification will result in cancellation of candidature.
