The Directorate of Medical Education, Andhra Pradesh (DME AP), has released a notification for the recruitment of Senior Residents in Broad and Super Specialties across government medical colleges and hospitals in Andhra Pradesh. Salary Structure
Selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly remuneration based on their specialty:
- Broad Specialty Senior Residents: Rs. 80,500/-
- Super Specialty Senior Residents: Rs. 97,750/-
- Dentistry Senior Residents: Rs. 74,750/-
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have one of the following postgraduate degrees in the concerned specialty:
- MD / MS / MCh / DM / MDS from a recognized medical institution
- DNB in Broad Specialties, granted by an institution with an attached hospital of 500 or more beds, as per NMC regulations
Medical Council Registration
Candidates must be registered with the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council or AP Dental Council.
Local and Non-Local Candidates
- Local candidates of Andhra Pradesh are given preference.
- Non-local candidates with an AP Medical/Dental Council registration are eligible only if no local candidates are available.
Definition of Local Candidate:
- Candidates who studied at least four years from Class 4 to Class 10 in Andhra Pradesh.
- Candidates who studied in Telangana but migrated to Andhra Pradesh after state bifurcation must provide a revenue certificate as proof of local status.
Selection Process
The selection process is based on merit, considering the following factors:
- Merit List Preparation
- Candidates will be ranked based on their postgraduate examination scores (theory and practical marks).
- Rule of Reservation (RoR) will be applied as per state government norms.
- Tie-Breaking Criteria
- If two or more candidates have the same marks, preference will be given to the older candidate (based on date of birth).
- Final Selection Decision
- The Selection Committee reserves the right to modify conditions and the number of posts based on administrative requirements.
