Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess one of the following postgraduate medical qualifications in the relevant specialty:
- MD / MS / DNB / DM / M.Ch or equivalent,
recognized by the Medical Council of India / National Medical Commission / National Board of Examinations.
Special Eligibility Notes:
- Clinical Haematology: MD in General Medicine or MD in Paediatrics candidates are also eligible.
- Dentistry: Only candidates with MDS in Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics are eligible.
- Final-year postgraduate students appearing in December 2025 examinations may apply, but they must submit their passing certificate before final selection.
Age Limit
- Maximum Age: 45 years (as on the last date of application)
Age Relaxation
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years
Candidates who have already completed three years of Senior Residency are not eligible to apply.
Application Fees
- General / OBC: ₹1,500
- SC / ST / EWS: ₹1,200
- PwBD / Ex-Servicemen / Women Candidates: No fee
The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid online only.
Salary Scale
Selected candidates will receive salary as per 7th Central Pay Commission:
- Pay Level: Level 11
- Basic Pay: ₹67,700 per month
- Additional Benefits:
- Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA)
- Other admissible government allowances

Tenure of Appointment
- Duration: 3 Years
- The appointment is full-time and contractual under the Government of India Residency Scheme.
- Private medical practice during the tenure is strictly prohibited.
Selection Process
The recruitment will be completed in two stages:
1. Written Examination
- Mode: Objective (MCQ-based)
- Total Questions: 80
- Marks: 80
- Negative Marking: None
Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- UR: 50%
- OBC / EWS: 45%
- SC / ST: 40%
2. Personal Interview
- Maximum Marks: 20
- Candidates up to three times the number of vacancies in each specialty will be shortlisted for interview.
Final Merit
- Final selection will be based on combined marks of written examination and interview.
Tie-Breaking Rule
In case two or more candidates score equal marks, the older candidate (earlier date of birth) will be placed higher in the merit list.
Reservation Policy
- Reservation for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), EWS, and PwBD candidates will be implemented as per Central Government rules.
- OBC candidates must belong to the Non-Creamy Layer category.
- EWS and caste certificates must be issued by competent authorities and valid as per Government of India norms.

Medical Fitness & Joining
- Final selection is subject to medical fitness clearance.
