Application Fee
Candidates must pay the prescribed application fee through online mode only. The category-wise fee structure is as follows:
- General and OBC Candidates: Rs. 600/-
- SC and ST Candidates: Rs. 400/-
- Differently Abled Persons (DAP): Exempted from fee payment
Once paid, the application fee will not be refunded or adjusted under any circumstances.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
To be eligible for the Assistant Professor post, candidates must meet the following academic requirements:
- A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the relevant subject from a recognized Indian university or an equivalent qualification from an accredited foreign university.
- Candidates must have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC or CSIR, or a UGC-recognized SLET/SET in the concerned subject.
- Candidates holding a Ph.D. degree awarded as per UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016 (and subsequent amendments) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET, subject to fulfillment of prescribed conditions.
Ph.D. Related Conditions (For NET Exemption)
Candidates claiming exemption based on Ph.D. qualification must satisfy the following conditions:
- The Ph.D. degree must be obtained through regular mode
- The Ph.D. thesis must have been evaluated by two external examiners
- An open viva voce must have been conducted
- At least two research papers published from Ph.D. work, with one published in a refereed journal
- At least two research papers presented at UGC/ICSSR/CSIR sponsored or funded conferences or seminars
Experience
- Teaching or Post-Doctoral research experience will be considered.
- Two marks will be awarded for each completed year of experience as per the academic score calculation method.
Age Limit (as on 19 January 2026)
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 38 years
Age Relaxation
- SC/ST Candidates: Relaxation of 5 years
- OBC Candidates: Relaxation of 3 years
- Persons with Disabilities: Relaxation of 10 years
Candidates belonging to more than one reserved category may receive cumulative age relaxation as per applicable rules.
Salary Scale
Selected candidates will be appointed under Group-A services and will receive a competitive pay structure as follows:
- Pay Band: Rs. 15,600 – 39,100
- Academic Grade Pay (AGP): Rs. 6,000 (pre-revised)
In addition to basic pay and AGP, employees will be entitled to allowances such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and other benefits as per Government of Manipur norms.
Selection Process
The selection procedure for the Manipur PSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026 consists of the following stages:
- Academic Score Assessment
- Academic scores will be calculated based on UGC Regulations and state government guidelines.
- These scores will be used only for shortlisting candidates for interview.
- Interview
- Final selection will be made entirely on the basis of interview performance.
- There will be no written examination for this recruitment.
- Verification of Documents
- Shortlisted candidates must produce original certificates and documents during verification.
The decision of the Commission regarding eligibility and selection will be final and binding.
