SSC Constable (GD) Recruitment 2026: Notification Released for CAPFs, SSF & Assam Rifles – Apply Online

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for Constable (General Duty) Recruitment 2026 for various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles.
This is one of India’s largest defence recruitment drives, offering 25,487 vacancies across multiple forces.

Eligible candidates can apply online from 1 December 2025 to 31 December 2025. The recruitment will include a Computer-Based Exam, PST, PET, Medical Test and Document Verification.

Pay Scale (Salary)

All selected candidates will receive salary under:

Pay Level-3: ₹21,700 – ₹69,100/- plus allowances

This includes basic pay, dearness allowance, HRA, transport allowance, medical benefits, and other perks as per government rules.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC GD Constable 2026

1. Nationality

  • Candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • Domicile certificate/PRC is mandatory for CAPF & Assam Rifles posts as per state-wise allocation.

2. Educational Qualification (as on 01-01-2026)

  • Must have passed Matriculation/10th Class from a recognized board.
  • Candidates whose results are not declared before 01 January 2026 are not eligible.

3. Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)

  • 18 to 23 years
    (Born between 02-01-2003 to 01-01-2008, both dates inclusive)

Selection Process for SSC GD Constable 2026

The recruitment process will consist of:

  1. Computer-Based Examination (CBE)
    • Available in Hindi, English and 13 regional languages.
  2. Physical Standard Test (PST)
  3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  4. Medical Examination (DME/RME)
  5. Document Verification

PST/PET, Medical Examination and DV will be conducted by the respective CAPFs.

Follow the steps below to submit your application form:

Step-by-Step Process

  1. Visit the official SSC website or use the mySSC mobile app.
  2. Complete One-Time Registration (OTR)
    (Note: OTR from the old website ssc.nic.in is invalid).
  3. Log in using your credentials.
  4. Fill out the SSC GD Constable Online Application Form.
  5. Choose your post preference, state, exam center and language.
  6. Upload required documents:
    • Recent photograph
    • Signature
    • Necessary certificates (if applicable)
  7. Pay the application fee (if applicable).
  8. Review the form and submit it.
  9. Take a printout of the application form for future reference.

Aadhaar-Based Authentication is recommended to avoid rejection due to photo/signature mismatch.
