Construction workers play a crucial role in the development of infrastructure such as roads, buildings, bridges, and public facilities. Despite their contribution, many workers in the construction sector face financial insecurity, health risks, and uncertainty about their future. To address these challenges, the Government of Rajasthan, through the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, launched the Nirman Shramik Jeevan va Bhavishya Suraksha Yojana in 2016.
This welfare scheme aims to provide life insurance, accident coverage, and pension security to registered construction workers and their families. By linking workers with major national insurance and pension schemes, the government ensures long-term protection and financial stability for labourers working in the unorganized construction sector.
Objectives of the Scheme
The primary objectives of the Nirman Shramik Jeevan va Bhavishya Suraksha Yojana are:

Schemes Covered Under Nirman Shramik Jeevan va Bhavishya Suraksha Yojana
This scheme provides benefits through reimbursement support under the following central government schemes:
- Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY)
- Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY)
- Atal Pension Yojana (APY)
The Rajasthan Construction Workers Welfare Board reimburses part or full premium amounts paid by eligible workers under these schemes.
Detailed Benefits of the Scheme
1. Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY)
PMSBY provides accidental death and disability insurance coverage. Under this yojana:
- The entire annual premium of ₹12 is reimbursed
- 100% premium refund is credited directly to the worker’s bank account
- Reimbursement is provided only after proof of premium deduction
- Partial reimbursement is not permitted
This ensures that construction workers receive accidental insurance coverage at no financial cost.
2. Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY)
PMJJBY provides life insurance coverage in case of the worker’s death. Under this benefit:
- The total annual premium is ₹330
- 50% of the premium (₹165) is reimbursed by the Welfare Board
- The remaining ₹165 is paid by the beneficiary
- Proof of full premium deduction from the bank account is mandatory
This helps workers obtain life insurance at a reduced cost, ensuring financial support for their family.
3. Atal Pension Yojana (APY)
The Atal Pension Yojana ensures financial security during old age. Under this component:
- 50% of the annual contribution is reimbursed
- Applicable only for the ₹1,000 monthly pension plan
- Reimbursement is calculated based on the worker’s average yearly contribution
- The beneficiary must continue paying their portion regularly
- Proof of pension contribution deduction is required
This support helps workers build a stable pension fund for post-retirement life.
Eligibility Criteria
To avail benefits under the Nirman Shramik Jeevan va Bhavishya Suraksha Yojana, the applicant must fulfill the following conditions:
- Must be a registered beneficiary of the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Rajasthan
- Must have an active savings bank account in their own name
- Must be enrolled in:
- Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana
- Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana
- Atal Pension Yojana
- Must provide written consent to the bank for automatic premium and contribution deduction
- The annual premium or contribution must be successfully deducted from the bank account
Only eligible and active beneficiaries can receive reimbursements under the scheme.
Application Process (Online Mode)
The application process for this yojana is fully online through the Rajasthan Government’s digital portals.
Step 1: Registration on Rajasthan SSO Portal
- Visit the Rajasthan Single Sign-On (SSO) Portal
- Click on “Register Here”
- Enter personal details and verify mobile number using OTP
- Complete the registration process
Step 2: Login and LDMS Mapping
- Log in using your SSO credentials
- Click on Labour Department Management System (LDMS)
- If already registered with LDMS, select “Yes” and link your account
- If not registered, select “No” and fill in address and profile details
This is a one-time process.
Step 3: Applying for the Scheme
- After login, access the LDMS dashboard
- Select “Welfare Schemes” from the menu
- Click on BOCW Welfare Board
- Choose Apply for Scheme
- Select Nirman Shramik Jeevan va Bhavishya Suraksha Yojana
- Fill in the application form carefully
- Upload all required documents
- Submit the application online
