The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam, has released a notification for the hiring of 2,900 Assistant Teachers for Lower Primary (LP) Schools. This recruitment aims to enhance elementary education in Assam under the Right to Education Act, 2009.
Eligible and interested candidates who have cleared the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) or Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) can apply online through the official website of DEE, Assam.

Additional Condition
- Candidates with more than two living children on or after January 1, 2021, are not eligible for appointment, as per Assam Government’s Small Family Norms policy.
Educational Qualification & Eligibility
Mandatory Requirements
- Higher Secondary (12th) with at least 50% marks
- (Relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PwD candidates)
- 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) / Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) / Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- Qualified Assam TET (ATET) or Central TET (CTET) for Lower Primary
Additional Considerations
- Graduates with 2-year D.El.Ed and ATET/CTET can apply, but no extra weightage will be given for graduation.
- Candidates with “Not Clear (NC)” status in any qualification are not eligible.
